Mission Statement

WildNet Africa links the millions of people in our global village who have a common interest in African wildlife. These people include those who have a responsibility to care for Africa's wildlife, those who live with and depend upon Africa's wildlife, those who want to know more about, experience and enjoy Africa's wildlife, and those who want to do something to ensure the future of Africa's diminishing wildlife and wild areas.

Using the power of electronic communication and the internet, WildNet Africa brings Africa's wildlife into the homes and daily lives of all these people. New information is available immediately from anywhere in the world, while older news and information is stored in an expanding archive of wildlife information. In this way, the participants in the process of learning and communicating are empowered to be part of active and responsible conservation of Africa's wildlife resources. WildNet Africa allows them to remain in touch with the issues, participate in spreading the word, and communicate with and support those people and organisations who are actively involved in conservation on the ground in Africa.

By supporting community conservation efforts and promoting conservation education, WildNet Africa enables people to become responsible for their own resources whilst becoming mindful of the issues and problems that face others. As population, extinction, pollution and other concerns further dominate the headlines of the world, so this role as facilitator of information exchange and empowerment continues to increase in value.

WildNet's responsibility towards all participants in this process is to ensure that they are kept informed in an interactive, entertaining and reliable way via a comprehensive, one-stop website on African wildlife.
